The Orli Interview of the Week: Orlando on Total Request Live

Here is the Orli interview of the week! This weeks video is of Orlando promoting 'Kingdom of Heaven' on the TRL show in London. This is just such a fun interview, full of artists renditions of his dog Sidi, and his amazing laugh and smile! He looks so good, and is so sweet and humble. It's also quite fun to watch when he calls a fan from outside the studio says, "Hi darling how are you?" Swoon! Haha, enjoy!

Heres the link for part two:

Fan Girl Fun: Nail Art and Notebook Art

So today in my history class, we had a lecture on the Lyndon B. Johnson presidency, and for some reason I was compelled to doodle on the margins of notebook, and drew the Fellowship's weapons for fun. However, I didn't include Frodo's "sword", because it's really considered a small knife, and he barely uses it that much throughout the trilogy. Anyways, I thought I'd share my little drawings!
Also, I was searching Google for a rusty gold nail polish, and found these awesome Lord of the Rings, inspired manicures, and thought 'wow, how cool and creative!' So I will post my two favorite manicures. If you want to try to copy these looks, I would advise you to go with O.P.I nail polish, they have the most abundant range in color. For the Sauron manicure, try 'Atomic Orange', 'Need Sunglasses?', and 'Red Hot Rio'. For the one ring manicure, perhaps try 'All Sparkly and Gold', and 'Black Onyx'. Seriously, though who thinks of these color names? Hehe. Lord Of The Rings

Top 3 Hobbit Parodies: My Pick of the Three Funniest Hobbit Spoofs

I was having a Youtube marathon the other day, and I came upon some hilarious Hobbit parodies that I felt just needed to be shared. While there are a lot of other good ones out there too, these are my top three!

3) The Hobbit Games. This is a cute mash up of the Hunger Games and The Hobbit. The prospect of winning a third breakfast, motivates the hobbits of the shire to volunteer as tribune to compete with the elves, dwarfs and wizards of Middle Earth. Very creative, and a fun twist on the Hunger Games!

2) Ke$sha's Timber Music Video, Hobbit Style. I love this song, and the fact that these two creative and cute guys took their time to morph it into the tale of the Desolation of Smaug is just great! Very catchy and fun to listen to.

1) The Hillywoodshow: An Unexpected Parody. This is my ultimate favorite, and even when I hadn't seen the first Hobbit, I loved it. I love the Hillywoodshow they are so funny, and imaginative! Bilbo better be careful next time he takes some shots!

The Daily Orlando: Orlando Enjoys A Day at the Beach

Orlando recently spent the day at a lovely beach in Santa Barbra, CA with some lucky doggie. I'm not sure if its a new dog of his but it sure looks excited that Orlando is going to throw a frisbee for him! Love that he's a dog person, and the fact that he is in amazing shape doesn't hurt either. I mean oh my gosh he looks so incredibly amazing. Thank you @orlandobloomer for these wonderful and glorious Instagram pictures! If you want to check out more smoldering pics of Orlando, visit the fabulous fan Instagram, @orlandobloomer!

The Orli Interview of the Week

Here is the Orli interview of the week! Sorry it's not a a video interview, but this article was so good I had to post it! This article is from the Netherlands and is translated by Sandra of the 'theorlandobloomfiles' website. Even though it's already obvious, he is the ideal boyfriend, and this article lists the reasons why. Enjoy and visit this great website, it is a must see for all Orlando fans!

8 reasons to have Orlando as a boyfriend
1st REASON
You could just "eat" him up.
That is something that we knew already but in his new role in Troy Orly is more beautiful than in all his other movies. He is sexy with his curly hair, nice brown tan and a gorgeous trained body. He said that he does nothing special to look like that. "I look like that when I'm waking up every morning." "That's very nice Orlando, can you perhaps wake up like that in OUR bed?"
2nd REASON
Orly goes all the way for the one he loves.
"I'm very good boyfriend," he said, "but I'm very intense. When I fall in love with a girl, I'm going all the way and shower her with my love. Not all the girlfriends I had could handle that. I love crazy and spontaneous surprises and will do everything to keep the relationship interesting." But you don't have to be afraid that this hunk would suffocate you with his love. He claims to be very relaxed and to encourage his girlfriend to do her own things.
3rd REASON
Orly stayed normal.
He may be a famous star right now, but he's still the guy he always was. "I still bike around through London and I still live in the same neighborhood before I became famous." Unfortunately he won't take you to the hottest parties. "I don't like them at all, I'd rather go do nice things with my friends and family." The wildest stories are written about him, and that can't bother him. "They write that I have played in movies that I have never heard of and that I'm dating women that I‘ve never met before in my life. It's nice that they tell me those things that I did not know yet. Hahahaha."
4th REASON
Orly is a cutie!
No, those are not our own words (but we agree on that point). Those are the words from his co-star Eric Bana from Troy who calls him an absolute sweetheart. "He was so interested in everybody on the set and he watched out for everybody if they were treated alright." Also his other co-star Johnny Depp from Pirates of the Caribbean said: "He's really a nice guy, and he has not a mean bone in his body."
5th REASON
Orly has balls.
He may be a nice guy, but he is no wimp. When he was 20 years old he broke his back from a fall from a window and the doctors thought he could never walk again. "I didn't want to believe that so I worked really hard to get on my feet again. I was in a lot of pain, but I knew I could do it and two weeks later I walked smiling out of the hospital. Ever since I've been a little bit more careful. I know now that I'm fragile, hahaha."
6th REASON.
Orly likes shopping.
Yeah, they are rare but there are guys who like to shop. Orlando is one of them. He likes nice clothes and goes shopping with his sister. His sister helped him with his clothes when he was younger, and she shopped in second hand clothes stores. "The girls at my school always told me that I looked nice." Now he shops together with his girlfriend Kate and she said that Orlando is spending more time in a fitting booth than she is.
7th REASON
Orly is a real daredevil.
He calls himself an adrenaline junkie. The more dangerous the sport, the greater the kick is for Orlando. Snowboarding, surfing, skydiving, and bungeejumping are his favourites. During the taping of LOTR in New Zealand he did a lot of sky-diving. "I wasn't allowed to do that, because the risk was to great that I would get injured, but they couldn't stop me." said Orlando. He did also some risky surfing when he was taping for Troy. The set people of Troy weren't to happy about that.
8th REASON
Orly is a great kisser.
That's what his co-star Keira Knightley said. She had a hot kissing scene with him in Pirates of the Caribbean. "I forgot that I was acting, hahaha." Also his co-star in Troy Diane Kruger who gets to kiss Orlando said, "He is a passionate kisser!" But we would like to say: We want to try first and then believe it. Who will volunteer?

Orlando Brings Home the Popcorn for Best Fight Scene as Legolas

About an hour ago, Orlando won for best fight scene with Evangeline Lilly for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug at the MTV Movie awards tonight. He didn't win for best transformation, that award got dished out to Jared Leto for The Dallas Buyers Club. I'm very happy that Orlando won though!! I haven't seen the latest hobbit movie yet, but it looks quite good, and I think Legolas kicks some major orc butt! Haha, my reaction was quite hilarious, as soon as they announced Orlando Bloom, I screamed with delight and jumped up and down and ran forward to the TV, screaming, 'YAY!!! Oh my gosh I'm so happy, I love you so much oh my god, your amazing!' He looked so good as always, with a simple black blazer, and his amazing hair. His speech was short and sweet, and he accept Evangeline's award on his behalf, and thanked the stuntmen who had to endure the hot and heavy costumes, and his bow and arrow ass kicking, and his fans of course! He also very sweetly apologized for breaking one stuntman's nose, and gave a nod to the other nominees that didn't win including Ron Burgandy and his gang of reporters and Katnis from the Hunger Games movies. So happy for him, congratulations Orlando and everyone who worked on The Hobbit!Orlando Bloom WINS Best Fight at MTV Movie Awards 2014

The Daily Orlando: Orlando Visits Syria and Jordan

Here is the most recent news about Orlando! On April 8th, he arrived in Jordan, and is now visiting Syria through he Unicef goodwill ambassador. While in Syria, he visited a refugee camp located near the capital, and a Syrian family in the town of Irbid, who had to flee from their hometown due to violence from the war thats still raging. And lastly, he visited a Unicef founded school in Za'atari, one of the biggest refugee camps in Syria, with a booming population of 10,000. In a recent interview he said, "These children have witnessed more extreme violence than any child should... these are families that had lives most of us can relate to. Parents had jobs. Kids went to school and got to play. This war obliterated their lives and uprooted them from their homes and now they are living in precarious situations with little or no hope for their future." (Information courtesy of @orlandobloomer via instagram). Certainly a visit from the amazing Orlando, would've given these children a smile and some hope. Thank you Orlando, for being such a nice person, and doing things that make a difference in the world, not many actors are as giving and selfless as you are!

My Human Bio Paper on Dyslexia: Inspired by Orlando

Hey, guys! Sorry I haven't been posting that much lately, I've had a bunch of essays to do! However, one of them was for my human bio class, and we had to a research paper on any disorder of the human body so I immediately thought of Orlando Bloom, and said, 'Well I'm going to do mine on dyslexia, its interesting and a bunch of people have it!' Anyways here is the finished project, hope it's not too boring!          In human biology, there are many things that can go wrong with the body, more specifically the brain. However, the most common learning disability that affects the brain and phonological awareness, auditory short-term memory, and verbal comprehension is dyslexia, or ‘developmental reading disorder’. In this informative paper, I am going to discuss this life long condition. I will first begin to explain the effects that dyslexia has on a person, and the causes of this phenomena. Next, I will share how to recognize symptoms of the reading disorder, specifically in children. And lastly, I’ll conclude with information about dealing with dyslexia in everyday life.
According to the following statistic, “One in five students, or 15-20% of the population, has a language based learning disability. Dyslexia is probably the most common of the language based learning disabilities.”  This is a startling statistic, because it shows that a lot of people have to deal with a disability that makes it more difficult to learn. In order to understand these difficulties, we first must know how dyslexia affects a person and their abilities. This developmental reading disorder makes it difficult to process symbolic codes, linguistics, and use in alphabetic letters representing sounds of speech, and numeric numbers or quantities. In fact, “The word dyslexia is derived from the Greek word, ‘dys’ (meaning poor or inadequate) plus ‘lexi’ (words or language). Implying only an inadequacy in language tasks”.1 However, even though these maladies can negatively hinder a person, they can also help a person excel. For example, many dyslexics sometimes have a stronger use with their right side of the brain, better thinking skills in the field of reason, conceptualities, and imagination. One the other hand, the causes of dyslexia are not as widely know as the effects are. Nevertheless, we do know that it is not the outcome of neurological damage or trauma, and it does not have a correlation with lower intelligence. “Dyslexia does not reflect an overall defect in language, but rather, a localized weakness within the phonologic module of the brain. This module is the functional part of the brain where the sounds of language are put together to form words and where words are broken down into sounds.”1 This is what doctor’s and specialists have pinned down as the cause of this disorder.  Fig.1.  A view of the Broca Area and Parieto-Temporal area showing a dyslexic brain and a nonimpaired brain.

Now that we know a little bit about what dyslexia does to the brain, and the cause of the disorder, we will now discuss the symptoms that appear with a dyslexic person. There are a large number of indications that a person has dyslexia, and these will be more apparent with children through grades 3 to 8. If a child has a problem with, “Understanding instructions or directions, staying on topic and getting to the point, naming people and objects, speaking with precise, accurate language, proper grammar and a varied vocabulary, pronouncing words correctly, rhyming, and understanding word problems in math,”  they may be developing the disorder. Even though this condition is language based, some children may even show signs of dyslexia in their emotional and social behavior. Examples of this include difficulties in maintaining self-esteem, understanding people’s body language and tone of voice, and dealing with feelings of peer pressure. Again, these signs seen in children can suggest the prevalence of dyslexia, and the need for extra aid in school.
This certain learning disability may be exasperating to deal with at times, especially in school, yet there are ways to help deal with it. If kids are given more time in class to work on their tests, or have the option of taking an oral test, then their test score is more apt to increase. Also, the Orton-Gillingham learning method can help with learning problems that stem from dyslexia. This approach helps with cognitive functions and reading by teaching the basics of forming words, before learning the word’s full meaning, and associations. In terms of everyday life, people with dyslexia can do better completing tasks if they have fewer directions that they have to follow or complete. So for example, if someone is given a simple and short ‘to-do’ list at school or work, they are less likely to get confused or aggravated. Again, it is important that children know that they are not stupid if they have this disorder, they can still thrive and excel in other mediums such as art, and drama. Orlando Bloom, (famous British actor) has had dyslexia since the age of 7, and also agrees that creativity is a good tool for children with the disorder, “I think creativity is the key to any child who has dyslexia. When I was on stage preforming, creating – that was really what got me through.”

In this essay, I discussed dyslexia, or developmental reading disorder. I first explained the cause and effect that this disorder has on the brain. Next, I divulged some information about how to recognize and be aware of signs of dyslexia. And to finish my points, I talked about dealing with the disorder and tips on how to cope with it. Even though this disorder does hinder the brain, and some of the functions of the brain, it isn’t life threatening or painful, which makes it a livable disorder. Some people have to suffer much more sever brain disorders; hence, it is lucky that this particular disorder can also be seen as a gift, and can be dealt with rather easily. To conclude this essay, I will end with a quote from dyslexic actor, Orlando Bloom, “Take this obstacle and make it the reason to have a big life, because if you can overcome this obstacle you are going to be that much further ahead than anyone else. It takes having obstacles to learn and grow and be better. The challenge of dyslexia – the challenge of climbing a mountain – is something that you can make your own and make it a reason to be a winner in life.”3

The Orlando Quote of the Day

Good afternoon all my Bloom fans, here is the Orlando quote of the day, from his movie, The Calcium Kid. Love this movie, so cute!

"Well, my dad once said, 'There's normally a winner in a two horse race.' Obviously neither me or Jose are horses, but I think the moral of the story is anything can happen. I believe that."
    -Orlando Bloom as Jimmy

Today's Lord of the Rings Tidbit: The Hobbit Desolation of Smaug to Come Out on DVD April 8th

As you may know already, 'The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug' comes out on DVD on April 8th. So excited, since I didn't see it in theatres, kinda disappointed that I didn't, but this will make a great birthday present! You can buy the special edition of Amazon for only $17.99! Also, the last Hobbit movie, 'The Hobbit: There and Back Again' hits theatres December 17th. Kind of sad it will be the end of Legolas, but it should be exciting nonetheless!

My Pirates of the Caribbean Fan Fiction - 'Kissing a Pirate'

So I finally got around to doing a little fanfiction for Pirates of the Caribbean featuring Will Turner. Probably won't continue it, but I wanted to do a little blurb on it, since I love Will! Hopefully, I'll be uploading Chapter 5 of my Legolas fanfiction soon as well!
Enjoy!
A flurry of rain, wind, and thunder was released from the ominous clouds. Will Turner, the local blacksmith, and part time pirate, was nailing boards onto the windows of his shop, as good looking as ever. Will and I been friends as children growing up in Port Royal, but it had been a while since I had talked to him, or even seen him. For a year, he traveled the Caribbean with notorious pirates such as Captain Jack Sparrow, in search of his father, after learing through word of mouth that his father was condemmed to a fate worse than death. Why he returned to Port, know one knew why, except for me. He was searching for a key that lead to the legendary Dead Man's Chest. Apparently that was where the actual heart of Davy Jones lie, and he wished to stab it and rid his father of a lifetime of servitude. While I was walking through town in the morning on the way to the store for a couple of things, I saw Will. He had just stepped onto the dock, when he noticed me. I motionlessly stood on the side of the road, trying not to be knocked off my feet from his good looks. He had gotten taller, and had a more muscular build. He had stuble on his chin, and his dark brown eyes smoldered. It was then that he walked over to be, and exclaimed that he was glad to see a familiar face and asked if he could have a word with me. Without hesitation I said yes, and he lead me to his shop, where he told me his whole story and how he longed to see a friend again. He also said, "I almost didn't recognize you Kate, you look lovely." His eyes met mine and somehow I tripped on my feet and reached for something to grab onto, a sword. Even though I grabbed the blunt side, I still managed to slash the palm of my hand. So now I was sititng my the fire place with a cloth wrapped around my hand while Will was prepped his shop for what looked like a pretty strong storm on the horoizon. While he was doing so, I couldn't help to think about my feelings for him. He had always been a good friend, he was kind hearted and brave. His smoldering looks helped the equationa as well. But I really didn't think he thought of me the same way. For him I was simply someone to talk to and trust, that was good at least. He walked over to me, "Now lets take a look at that hand." He gently took my left hand and examined it. "Well I'm still incredibly clumsy, that much hasn't changed." He smiled, "And I'm still incredibly naive, since I had a pirate swindle me out of a ship." As he wrapped a clean bandage around my hand I winced from the stinging of the cute. He placed my hand in his hands again. "I'm sorry, I have blacksmith's hands, I know they might be a bit rough." The sting of pain went away as I began to notice how close he was to me. I could feel the warmth of his breath, and he smelled wonderful, both musky and sweet. "It's okay." My breathing became ragged and he rubbed my arm. By god, I wanted to kiss him so badly it pained me. "Well, your cut isn' too bad, I think you'll be alright." I sighed and and thanked him and turned to get up as he grabbed my arm and tucked a piece of hair  back behinde my ear. Was this it, was he going to kiss me, should I lean in? Before I had time to really ponder these questions he slowly leaned it. His face was now only a few inches from mine and slowly placed his lips on mine in a gentle kiss. It only lasted for a second, but with all my might I kissed him back. His lips were soft and sure and he caressed the side of my arm, sending waves of  electricity through my fingertips. Feeling more brave, and giving in to all emotion and desire I pressd myself against his toned chest, and he wrapped his arms around me playing with my hair. I deepened the kiss, and he slolwy traced my lip with his tounge, and I let him in. I always thought french kissing would be gross, but it was quite the contrary. He outlied the roof of my mouth and licked my lips. I was on the brink of passing out since all of my senses were being thrown into him, the feeling of his strong and gentle hands, the slight taste of a drop of brandy on his lips, and the sound of his heartbeat, picking up in pace. He pulled away and smiled at me, we were now pushed uo against the wall, and I was trying to come back down to Earth, as he gave an adorable laigh at my reaction and picked me up off the ground spinning me around and said, "I'm so glad I ran into you Kate."
     "Me too, Mr. Turner."

Fan Girl Fun: Middle Earth Recipes and More

Hello all you fangirls, happy Friday! For this installment of 'Fan Girl Fun' I'm going to be sharing some more Lord of the Rings inspired recipes that you can cook up for your next feast, or whenever you get the muchies!
Drinks - Merry's Mulled Cider: This drink sounds really good on a cold day, I also love the recipe for Merry's Spiced Chai, also from lotrscrapbook.net. To make the Chai you will need:
5 Cups of boiling water
1 Teaspoon of ground ginger
2 Pinches of allspice
3/4 Teaspoon of peppercorns, (or a little less if you want to make it more mild).
10 Whole cloves
1 1/2 Cinnamon sticks
1/8 Cardamom seeds
2 Black tea bags, (Early grey tea, or english breakfast tea works too). Mix all ingredients together, then simmer and let brew/steep for at least 5 minutes. Remove the tea bags and brew/steep for another 10-20 minutes. Add milk and sugar if desired.
Merry's Mulled Cider: Mix together two quarts of apple cider, 20 whole cloves, 1/2 cup sugar, 12 cinnamon sticks, 14 whole allspice, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Bring to a boil and let simmer for 15 minutes. Strain, and serve with a slice of lemon.
Nibbles - Rivendell Black Bottomed Cheescake Muffins: These just sound decadent! Serve them next time you have a Lord of the Rings Marathon party to sustain your fellow fans.
Preheat oven to 350 F. Combine the following 6 ingredients into a large bowl: 1 1/2 cup of flour, 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa, 1 teaspoon baking soda, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 cup sugar. Combine the next ingredients in a smaller separate bowl: 1 egg, 1 cup water, 1/2 cup vegetable oil, 1 tablespoon vinegar, 2 teaspoon vanilla. Then add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and distribute into greased muffin tins. Combine the following ingredients, and beat until they're a bit lumpy and spoon on the center of the chocolate batter. 1 8oz of pack of cream cheese, 1 egg, 1/3 cup sugar, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/3 cup diced almonds. Back for 20-25 minutes until the cream cheese mixture starts to brown. Let cool for 2 minutes and enjoy!
The last recipe idea is Orlando's favorite breakfast: Toast, with peanut butter, (or almond butter) and bananas: 1 piece of wheat toast, 2 tablespoons peanut butter, half of sliced banana. After bread is toasted, spread the desired amount of peanut butter on toast, then add the bananas. This is a good, healthy and filling breakfast or snack, so yummy!

The Daily Orlando: Orlando at the Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony

Today, at 12:00 pm Orlando got honored with his own star on the hollywood walk of fame. His 'acceptance speech' was short but sweet, and he thanked many people who helped him along the way, such as his co-star in Zulu and the director of Romeo and Juliet. He also thanked his managers, agents, friends, family, and most importantly his fans. Dressed in a dapper blue suite, he graciously accepted his star along with his adorable son, Flynn. Even though he took a moment to thank a lot of people, I want to take a moment to thank him. He is so talented, and he's a fantastic actor, (whom I think should get more credit for what he does), and overall person. So a gargantuan thank you, Orlando Bloom, for making me laugh, smile, and always making my day!
