Since Orlando is an ambassador for British Airways, he was recently interviewed by the International Traveller, and discussed how he copes with long flights! (Interview from the wonderful ka-bloom.org).Long Haul Flights with Orlando Bloom

Hollywood heartthrob, seasoned traveller and British Airways ambassador, Orlando Bloom reveals his tips and tricks to getting through long-haul flights.

It’s a sunny Sydney morning at Sydney International Airport and Mr Orlando Bloom is in his final few hours in Australia, before departing for Los Angeles.

However before he boards his flight with British Airways (he is an international ambassador, after all), Bloom takes time out to chat with an intimate group of journalists about getting through long-haul flights.

Here’s what he had to say:

Q. What are the ultimate travel necessities that you always travel with?
A. Oh, well obviously my passport [laughs].
But I always have my iPad, a good book, I like a bit of old and new, noise cancelling headphones – which BA also have on board – and a scarf, you never know when it’s going to get a bit chilly.
I like to be comfortable when I fly so I generally travel in a t-shirt and jeans.

Q. What do you like most about travelling?
A. I love exploring new countries and cultures and getting to spend time with new people really.
Sometimes it feels like time travel almost when you get on a plane and then land somewhere completely different and you get to experience life in another way.
What’s that saying? Travel broadens the horizons and broadens the mind.

Q. What’s the best way to get sleep on a long-haul journey?
A. Lie down, close your eyes [laughs].
I tend to drink quite a lot of water, and I try not to eat too much sweet stuff, although that’s always difficult because there’s so many tempting things on a BA flight.
I try not to eat too much on a flight, stay away from caffeinated drinks and just relax with some in-flight entertainment.

Q. How do you avoid jet lag?
A. Jet lag can be tough to deal with but I find the best thing to do is to avoid alcohol, drink lots of water, and adjust your sleep to the time zone you’re entering.
I try to exercise and get outdoors. If you’re arriving in Sydney and you’re lucky enough to get to the ocean and swim, I always find that’s a good way to combat jet lag.

Q. Any tips for travelling with children on long-haul flights?
A. Prayers [laughs]. Lots of praying.
I’ve been very lucky my son has travelled quite a lot since he was little. We always have a few games and toys and few other small favourite things to keep him occupied.
It’s probably one of the only times that it’s okay for an iPad to come out for a little while, you know, just to get through the challenging moments.

To celebrate Orlando’s time in the country, British Airways is offering Australians up to 10% discount on all fares and special fares on its daily flights between Sydney and London Heathrow, via and including the award-winning Changi Airport in Singapore.

The Daily Orlando: Orlando at Comic Con in Sydney and Orlando to Speak at WeDay in Vancouver

Hey all you Bloomers! Again, sorry it has been a while since I have done consistent posts. If you saw my video vlog, you will have know that I have quite busy with the start of a new semester. Anyways, here is the latest Orlando news. As you know, Orlando was a guest at Comic Con in Sydney, Australia, and flew there for the event and to visit family who live 'down under'. Warning: these pictures are incredibly hot and may make you go into a fan girl fit, black out for second or have a mini orgasm. With that said, here are some pics of him from the event! OzComicCon091314_05.jpgOzComicCon091314_01.jpgPort_Kwok01.jpgOzComicCon091314_03.jpg In other news, Orlando is set to speak at the WeDay event in Vancouver. He first spoke at this unique event in Oakland, California (only 45 minutes from where I live - ahh! Check out my Orlando WeDay Vlog to see what I had to say about it!) and gave an amazing speech about his life changing event of falling three stories and breaking his back, and about accepting the challenges that you may face. The events of the day will be streamed live, once again from MTV at mtv.com.ca/weday and will also be aired on MTV on Tuesday, November 11th at 7:00 pm ET. So I'll definitely be tuning in to see Orlando speak live again!

Fan Girl Fun: The Hobbit Countdown

Also a new little series so we can count down the days until the final installment of the hobbit series and of Middle Earth - "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies".  Legolas, and Bilbo and company make their premiere on December 17th (I have 3 final exams that day, curses!!!!). So I'll just make a countdown for the premiere, but I'll be seeing when my finals are over, and christmas break has begun, (3 days later :( ). In the meantime, I will watch all of the Lord of the Rings and the first two hobbits, and maybe continue my Legolas fanfiction! Bard and Legolas in The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

Orlando Spotting: Keep a Weather Eye Out on the Horizon

A new little series I decided to start, called the 'Orlando Spotting'. Pretty self explanatory!

Keep a weather eye out on the horizon!

So for the first post, I can report for an Orlando Bloom instagram fan page, that Orlando attended a wedding for Flora Montgomery, an Irish actress best know for 'Basic Instinct 2' and the 'Murphy's Law' tv series. The wedding was held in Northern Ireland, and Orlando looked soo good looking! (As he always does!)
