On June 12th Orlando was just named Kent's Cultural Icon by the popular vote in the annual Canterbury Cultural Awards, put on by the University in Canterbury. I'm so happy Orlando won! He completely deserved it!!! The other nominations included Ellie Goulding, Tracey Emin, and Brenda Blethyn.
Since Orlando is filming a movie right now here in the US, (maybe its the one with Anna Kendrick?!), his mom Sonia was present to collect the reward on his behalf. Yet Orlando did send a recorded message to the ceremony to offer his thanks! He looks soo good in it, with his hair pulled back (the long Will Turner hair is making a comeback!) and was very humbled and honored to have received the award, and offered many thanks, especially to his mom!
