‘The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies’ DVD/Blu-ray release date, special features revealed
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies DVD/Blu-ray release date is March 24, and the studio has announced the special features that will be included with the film.
With The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies being released on DVD and Blu-ray next month, the studio have announced the bonus features, as well as pricing for Peter Jackson’s final Hobbit film.
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies will be available on Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack for $44.95, Blu-ray Combo Pack for $44.95 and 2-disc DVD Special Edition for $28.98. The Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack features the theatrical version of the film in 3D hi-definition, hi-definition and standard definition; the Blu-ray Combo Pack features the theatrical version of the film in hi-definition on Blu-ray.
The DVD features the theatrical version in standard definition, while all versions include a digital version of the movie in Digital HD with UltraViolet. Fans can also own The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies via purchase from digital retailers on March 3.
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack, Blu-ray Combo Pack and 2-Disc DVD Special Edition contain the following special features:

While we’ll have to wait for The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies’ extended edition, which is what most fans want to purchase, it’s nice for those looking to complete their set as the final film will be available in stores on March 24.
Peter Jackson has revealed that the extended edition will include 30 minutes of additional footage, in addition to the nine hours of bonus features which always come with his extended editions.
The final Hobbit film’s extended edition will most likely be released in early November, as The Desolation of Smaug’s extended edition was released November 3, 2014.
