#TeamOrlando: The Story Behind the Angry Bloomers

Orlando Bloom and Justin Bieber. What is the difference between the two? Easy, everything.
Orlando got his start from humble beginnings, and he actually went to acting school and got his degree for his talented work. He worked his way up the ladder of experience through the British National Youth Theatre, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the British American Drama Academy. And even though the Lord of the Rings trilogy catapulted him the stardom, he still retained his down to earth, and humble demeanor, with the ideal of 'I'm not really a heartthrob or famous, I'm just extremely lucky to be doing what I love to do - my boyhood dreams of being a hero. He is grateful for his fans, crediting them for his ability to keep doing films. Some may not have been big box office hits, but he did them anyways not for the money but for the appreciation for the story and character. He has the utmost respect for women, and greets them with a dreamy kiss on both cheeks, and talks with the sweetest eloquence, using 'darling' and 'sweetheart'. He is a doting father, and an ambassador for UNICEF; visiting places like Nepal and Syria to help children have access to clean water and education. He lacks the classic celebrity attitude, of 'everyone should love me and I am a privilege to the world' and doesn't boast about how great he really is. His modesty is a breath of fresh air. He has realized that he has to be responsible and refrain from crazy sports and activities to take care of his body after his 3 story fall when he was just 21. In short, I digress. All you Orli fans most likely know all of this information but I felt compelled to divulge it once again, due to the circumstances that have happened between him and Justin Bieber.
On July 29th, both Orlando and Justin happened to be dining in the same restaurant in Spain. In the past Bieber has been seen with Orlando's ex wife Miranda Kerr, backstage of the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. Just made the biggest mistake of his life, (he pissed off one diehard Orlando fan), and confronted Orli, taunting him and making trashing comments about Miranda, saying things like, 'She was good', and 'What you going to do now bitch'. Since Orlando once again is very respectful of women, particularly his ex wife, whom he's still friends with, he threw a punch at Orlando, but didn't follow through in it, realizing what he was doing. In response, Bieber continued to act like a stupid and impulsive five year old and posted a picture of Miranda, (lated taking it down) and one of Orlando looking distressed and sad. And what is left of Bieber's fans, well they are defending Justin. But seriously, Justin is the one that needs to grow up. You think he would learn after doing drugs, getting arrested for drag racing, drinking, and vandalization that he is trashing his self image. Like I have more respect for Lindsey Lohan at this point, at least she is kind of trying to pull her life together. So in a nutshell, #TeamOrlando. And he are some comments from the @orlandobloom_fanpage on Instagram and from my page, to further provide you with explanation and an example of what happens when make a devoted Bloomer angry!

The Daily Orlando: New Poster for Hobbit 3 - Orlando Visits Youth Theatre

So I'm so excited, because a new poster for 'The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies' is finally here, and just in time for the 2014 Comic Con! I've been waiting for a new poster, however, I am a bit bummed that Legolas doesn't grace the poster, but the tagline is pretty cool! I'll definitely want to see comic con to catch Orlando's interviews! Hobbit3_Poster01.jpg

And in more Orlando news, when he was in England, he visited the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury. He was asked to be the patron of the theatre, and gladly excepted, since he had his first acting experience on stage at the theatre. This of course is when he played a monkey, and broke the 4th wall scratching his behind. (Cutest 4 year old moment ever). Anyways, it's just so neat and sweet that he goes to back to his roots and where he truly got inspired to become an actor, and one that we love so much today!

Fan Girl Fun: Hobbit Feast

Hello all my fellow fan girls out there! Yesterday my friend and I made a Middle Earth themed dinner, and we watched both of the the Hobbit movies, and it was quite yummy! I've been wanting to do this for a while, but I'm not the best cook ever, I literally can burn butter. So I got some help from my best friend, who is an excellent cook! Anyways, we made Lembas bread, Merry's mushrooms, shire taters, and Balin's spiced beef. It all turned out great, but it did take a while to make since the steak had to sit in the marinade and then cook for 2 hours. Everything else was pretty easy! I'll post my pictures and the links to the recipes! Oh and for a quick tip, you don't have to buy all the ingredients listed, we improvised a bit and it was fine, and we had a ton of leftovers!

The Orlando Quote of the Day

Sorry it has been awhile, but here is the Orlando quote of the day!

"If life isn't about human beings and living in harmony, then I don't know what it's about."

New Details of Orlando's Upcoming Movie, 'Digging For Fire'

So this is some pretty exciting news, new details of Orlando's movie in the works, Digging for Fire have been discovered! Thanks to the wonderful ka-bloom.org fan website, we now know a bit more about the film set for late 2015. Enjoy! And again for more great stuff on Orlando visit ka-bloom.org! Joe Swanberg Dishes Digging For Fire Plot Details

When you think Joe Swanberg, movies like Uncle Kent and Hannah Takes The Stairs immediately come to mind – incredibly independent efforts that helped launch a “mumblecore” movement with the help of similar filmmakers like the Duplass brothers. He’s since gone on to create films like Drinking Buddies, boasting a much grander scope, but its his new film Digging For Fire that could be the filmmaker’s most cinematic departure yet.

Directed by Swanberg, based off a screenplay written with actor buddy Jake Johnson, plot details have been hush-hush to this point, so I decided to find out why that was during a press interview for Happy Christmas. After revealing that filming had concluded on the project, I asked if he could comment on the kind of story his fans could expect.

This is what Swanberg had to say about Digging For Fire:

Joe Swanberg: It’s a love story about a husband and wife, Jake Johnson and Rosemarie DeWitt. I’m still wrapping my brain around it, so that’s the most I can say with assurance now. It’s about the pleasures and pains of building a family with someone, and maintaining the excitement of a relationship over a long period of time. It’s in line with the work I’ve been doing recently, but Ben Richardson and I, on a technical end, really pushed ourselves to make something more cinematic. Jake Johnson and I tried to tap into more theatrical storytelling. On the filmmaking end we’ve just been more ambitious. It’s a much bigger movie in some ways.

From what it sounds like, Digging For Fire will be the most Hollywood-esque movie in Sawnberg’s catalog to date. While Richardson is a returning Drinking Buddies alum, where he served as cinematographer, it’s his work on the gorgeous Oscar nominee Beasts Of The Southern Wild that makes him a perfect candidate for bringing a more “theatrical feel” to Swanberg’s work. It sounds like the only difference will be how the director and company capture Digging For Fire, as a relationship drama between Johnson and DeWitt sounds comfortably reminiscent to Drinking Buddies and Happy Christmas.

Starring – here we go – Johnson, DeWitt, Anna Kendrick, Sam Rockwell, Orlando Bloom, Brie Larson, Melanie Lynskey, Sam Elliott, Mike Birbiglia, and a slew of other familiar faces, Digging For Fire is showing a healthy amount of ambition. Swanberg is pushing himself outside of a grounded, gritty comfort zone in favor of a more mature, mainstream-friendly type of offering – showcasing an even wider range than expected.

We’ll keep you up to date as we learn more about Digging For Fire, but in the meantime, you can get your Joe Swanberg fix by watching Happy Christmas, available on all VOD platforms right now!

The Daily Orlando: Orlando Spotted at the Serpentine Gallery Summer Party in London

On July 1st, Orlando attended the Serpentine Gallery Summer Part in London, and looked as handsome as ever with his grown out hair slicked back and looking killer in a Navy Blue suite. It makes me wonder if he's growing our his hair for a new role, or if he just felt like it. Either way, I love his long hair look! It's very reminiscent of The Pirates of the Caribbean and Kingdom of Heaven days! (Pictures courtesy of ka-bloom.org)

So good looking!
SerpentineGallery070114_07.jpg
Almost can't handle that gorgeous smolder smile!
SerpentineGallery070114_10.jpg
And can I just mention how gorgeous his hands are!? I have a thing for nice hands!
He was also recently featured on the Global Health Special Issue Feature which was shown in USA Today and he had a similar article in People Magazine about his work in Syria for UNICEF, which I think is incredibly touching and amazing for him to go and help, especially during a time of so much unrest in the Middle East. UNICEF_Jordan_GlobalHealthCover.jpg

Today's LOTR Tidbit: A Look At Where the Fellowship is Now

I was browsing through my Facebook news feed and an article from 'Movie Pilot' came up about what the cast of the Lord of the Rings has done since the last LOTR and how they've changed. Of course Orlando has done an incredible amount of blockbusters since his start, and it was LOTR that really catapulted him to stardom. He also looks the best after 13 years, he practically looks the same! So
gorgeous. On the other hand, Pippin does not look the same at all, was a bit shocked. Anyways here is the article from MoviePilot for you to enjoy! (By, Kit Simpson Browne)
With the final part of The Hobbit trilogy fast approaching, we may soon have to bid a final farewell to the world of Cinematic Middle Earth.
That got us thinking - after we got all emotional, and drowned our sorrows in a few 'pints' at the local Bree-like inn - just what have all of our favorite heroes from the original Lord of the Rings films been up to all this time?
After all, The Fellowship of the Ring was released THIRTEEN years ago. As in, the year George Bush was sworn in to office. The yearAaliyah died. The year the Gamecube was released. The year Mel C left The Spice Girls.
I mean, it was a really long time ago.
A reeeeeeaaaaalllllyyyy long time.
A reeeeeeaaaaalllllyyyy long time.
So that Fellowship must have changed a lot, right?
Well, let's take a look.
First up:

Frodo, aka Elijah Wood

Ok, so maybe they haven't all changed that much.
What's He Been Up To? Other than being deeply creepy in Sin City, Wood, now aged 33, has recently had his biggest hit since Lord of the Rings with the critically-acclaimed TV series Wilfred, in which he talks to his dog, who's also a human. Sort of. Best not to mentionGreen Street.
And... he also, of course, starred (and sort of rapped) in thehilarious, star-studded video to The Beastie Boys' Make Some Noise. Which is just...the best thing ever.

Samwise, aka Sean Astin

What's He Been Up To? Other than featuring in Season 5 of 24, and voicing Raphael in Nickelodeon's (Emmy award-nominated)Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Astin (now 43) also briefly went into politics, working as the campaign manager for his friend Dan Adler, as he ran in a special election in California's 36th Congressional District. Sadly, Adler lost the Democratic primary, meaning Astin isn't currently starring in a real-life version of House of Cards.
And... he made a brief appearance in the video for what is simultaneously the catchiest and most irritating song ever - his old friend Corey Feldman's Ascension Millennium. You have been warned.

Merry, aka Dominic Monaghan

What's He Been Up To? Other than briefly appearing in Lost? Not a lot. Monaghan (now 37) was in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and the video for Eminem's Love the Way You Lie, though...
And... He's recently hit a bit of a career resurgence, with his new wildlife show Wild Things with Dominic Monaghan having recently debuted on BBC America. Though that does involve him facing down cobras...

Pippin, aka Billy Boyd

What's He Been Up To? Other than growing an excellent beard, Boyd (now 45!) has largely split his time between music and acting since Lord of the Rings, with a recent appearance in Macbeth at London's Globe theatre a highlight. He also starred in the surprisingly excellent cycling drama The Flying Scotsman back in 2006.
And... He's also proven himself an excellent cover-er of popular late-90's Britney Spears songs. Because Billy Boyd is awesome.

Aragorn, aka Viggo Mortensen

What's He Been Up To? One of the more high profile members of the Fellowship going into the original movie, Mortensen (now 55) has continued a successful Hollywood career since. 2005's A History of Violence was a highlight, as were 2009's The Road and 2011's A Dangerous Method, in which he played Sigmund Freud, with the excellent beard seen above.
And... He's most recently been in intensely creepy form in this year's The Two Faces of January - which is due out in October.

Boromir, aka Sean Bean

What's He Been Up To? Other than somehow not aging, Bean (also 55) has ensured his place in Fantasy history by playing Eddard freakin' Stark in Game of Thrones and voicing Martin Septim in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. He was also briefly on the board of directors of his beloved soccer team Sheffield United.
And... Possibly his most critically acclaimed role in the last few years? A cross-dressing teacher in the UK series Accused. Which he totally pulls off.

Gimli, aka John Rhys-Davies

What's He Been Up To? Rhys-Davies (now 70) has largely been appearing in the made-for-TV and straight-to-DVD realms since Lord of the Rings, with Anaconda 3: The Offspring a particular highlight. He also got into some trouble back in 2004 for some pretty out there politic views.
And... wait, did we say Anaconda 3: The Offspring was a highlight? We clearly meant to say Apocalypse Pompeii, a mockbuster of that movie starring Kit Harrington nobody watched.

Legolas, aka Orlando Bloom

What's He Been Up To? Other than marrying, and later separating from, Miranda Kerr? Bloom (now 37) broke seriously big with thePirates of the Caribbean series, but since then has worked mostly in smaller movies (The Three Musketeers notwithstanding). He also, of course, snuck into the Hobbit movies, despite Legolas very much not being in the books. Which is a neat play, really.
And... Bloom's theater work has drawn more critical acclaim than his work in films - in particular his performance as Romeo in 2013'sRomeo and Juliet on Broadway.

Gandalf, aka Sir Ian McKellen

What's He Been Up To? Generally being Ian McKellen, and thus the coolest man alive. McKellen (now 75) has continued to play Gandalf in the Hobbit movies, as well as returning to the X-Menfranchise on a number of occasions to define Magneto for a generation.
And... his adorable bromance with Patrick Stewart has continued unabated, with their recent Broadway double bill of No Man's Landand Waiting for Godot proving hugely successful - and almost bringing down the internet with their cute-ness on several viral occasions.

All of which makes me feel...really, really old.
But, on the plus side, Ian McKellen is still awesome...
In so many ways...
In so many ways...
Plus, bonus picture of the Hobbits just hangin' out, chillin', starin' at us all with their terrifying Hobbit eyes:
Which can never be unseen.
Which can never be unseen.
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is set for release December 18, 2014. And then we can all meet back here in 13 years to get all nostalgic again...

Fan Girl Fun: In Orlando's Footsteps

Hello all you bloomers! Hope everyone is having a lovely Summer! I'm soo sorry I haven't posted in two weeks, I was on vacation. But now I'm back and I'm up to date with everything Orlando! To get back into the swing of things, here are some pictures from my trip! I went to New York, and of course I had to go to the Richard Rogers Theatre where Orlando did Romeo and Juliet, just to stand (aproximately) where he stood! In front of the theatre and at the back stage door entrance! It was so special thinking, 'This is where he stood not to many months ago greeting fans, and doing interviews!' Sigh, haha. Anyways here are some photos. And hopefully I'll be posting a lot more now, so Orli fans keep on reading!
